07.04.25 | Feet soaking wet, four missed calls on your phone.
Out and about with my phone on a random day in February. The idea was to do a "colour walk" (photographing everything you find along the way in a color of your choice) to motivate me to keep up with my walks. Since the urge to hit the gym - (like the whole world seems to be doing) hasn't hit me yet, let's at least try the 10,000 steps a day challenge.
But as luck would have it, I did not find many interesting things in the color I picked: yellow. Either I wasn't inspired, or the day was too gray, or the cold was brutal and without gloves I wasn't keen in taking my hands out of my coat; which, by the way, wasn't even doing a good job of keeping me warm (spoiler: it was all of that combined) so I gave up. Now I’m passing the game on to you: try to spot some of the yellow things I saw.
The cafe/bar in the first and last photos fascinates me. It’s a tiny makeshift shack-like addition that looks even smaller next to the giant metro overpass crossing the street right above it. It has a vintage-style facade (traditional pub signs and neon lights are my weakness) and the labyrinthine, dimly lit interior is home to an endless collection of knick-knacks, souvenirs, velvet sofas and armchairs, red light and walls covered in photo frames and posters. It feels like the basement of an eccentric, slightly naughty auntie's house who makes a top notch espresso martini. Honestly, I need to go back there with my camera and have another one (or several)
